this was one of Pastor Steve’s sermons a few weeks ago (Dec. 9,07) and i thought i would post it with some of my thoughts with it.
STRESS RELIEF: UNCERTAINITY
Psalm 23:6- ” Surely goodness and mercy will follow me all the days of my life and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever.”
No matter what life brings at us, we can get through it because of God’s goodness.
Romans 8:28- “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”
God can take a hard situation that we have to go through and bring good out of it, good for us and for God’s plan.
We need to understand that God is good and that His plan for our life is better than our own plan. God is always bringing something better for us.
We can also get through the hard times because of God’s unfailing love.
No matter what we do wrong or how bad we have sinned, God will NEVER stop loving us.
Psalm 103:2-5,8- “Praise hte Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits- who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s. … The Lord is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love.”
God has forgiven you for whatever wrong you have done and He continually forgives you. He does not give up on you. It doesn’t matter what we have done, He is always there for us.
We can push through our trials because of God’s relentless pursuit.
God is always seeking after us. He wants us more than we want Him. He wants to be with us always. He is “knocking on our door”.
Revelation 3:20- “Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me.”
We need God and we need to build up a good relationship with Him. He is the most important relationship we will ever have. We need to give God space in our lives because he is pursueing us 24/7. Even when we are having a bad day, God wants to be with us.
We can know that we’ll be able to survive through the rough times because of God’s place for us in heaven.
God has a great plan for our life and even though we may not understand what it is He has for us, we have to trust that God will take care of us.
2 Corinthians 5:1- “Now we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands.”
God wants to be with us and take care of us forever. He has prepared a special place for us in heaven with Him.
God has a plan for us, we just have to follow His lead.

John 10:27-28- “My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of my hand.”
God will take care of us and get us through the rough and tough times on our lives. All we have to do is rely on Him, trust Him, and know that He has a better plan in store for us than the plan we had. And whatever happens, God will protect us and NEVER leave us. We just have to trust Him.
