Youth Life Rockbridge Camp

so tmrw morning at 8:30am, i will be leaving to start my adventure at Youth Life Rockbridge Camp…. i’m SUPER excited!!! my Young Life group is meeting up and riding in a bus with the Woodbridge Young Life group. it’s gonna be pretty amazing! so today i’m packing up and getting ready for (what’s going to be) AN OHHHHHMAZING WEEK!!!! i’m gonna be gone June 20-25th and we’ll get back at 2am! thats right… 2A.M.!!!! crazy… but yeah… so i wont be on the computer till prolly the 25th or 26th… bye for now and i’ll have pictures and video of my adventure to show everyone!!!!

i went to the Forest Park Graduation 2008 to say goodbye to a lot of my senior friends…. and i took some video so i decided to make a video! GOODBYE CLASS OF 2008!!!!!! I LOVE YOU GUYS!!!

so i lot of things have happened…. i went to prom!!! =) yay! umm… my dad is now the youth pastor at my church. i’m getting my license in a few weeks! i have a boyfriend. his name is Nick and he lives in Fairfax! we’ve been going out since May 17th. i’m going to Kings Dominion this saturday. umm… the school year is almost over so i’m about to be a senior! YAY CLASS OF 2009!!!!! =D and… i have a TON of things planned for the summer. i’ll be gone for a long time. but i’ll be back! =) so yeah thats pretty much it!

i’m thinking its time for a change…

 so i was thinking about getting my hair cut medium length…. i’m not sure. i just want something new and different and fun for the summer. anyways… so here a some pics of sort of what i have in mind… sort of. idk… i just want something easy, fun, cool, and new. maybe… just thinking right now. not for sure yet.

OH MY GOODNESS! I CANT BELIEVE IT!!!

SO TONIGHT WAS THE YOUNG LIFE ROCK BAND CLUB. WE EACH HAD TO HAVE A BAND. AND WHEN WE GOT THERE, IT WAS ONLY ME, IV, AND ZAC. BUT THEN WE GOT MY FRIEND CORY TO BE IN OUR BAND TOO. OUR BAND NAME WAS “THE 4″ (NAMED AFTER IV AND THE FACT THAT THERE WAS FOUR PPL)

 WE BARELY MADE IT THROUGH THE 1ST ROUND. WE GOT 4TH. BUT… WE DID A GREAT JOB SO WE THOUGHT WE MIGHT HAVE A CHANCE.

AND THEN…. WE MADE 2ND FOR THE 3RD AND FINAL ROUND AND WE WERE GOING AGAINST JON AND MATT’S TEAM. MY FIRST THOUGHT WAS… ITS OVER THEY WON. THEY GOT TO CHOOSE THE SONG AND THEY CHOSE “WELCOME HOME” (WHICH I HAD SUNG AMAZING EARLIER THAT NIGHT) AND THE 3RD ROUND WE ALL HAD TO CHOOSE EITHER HARD OR EXPERT. SO WE ALL CHOSE HARD.

WE WATCHED JON AND MATT’S TEAM, SHAKING AND DEFINITELY THINKING IT WAS OVER. BUT THEN…. THEY FAILED 34% INTO THE SONG. BUT WE WATCHED THEM AND THOUGHT WE WOULDN’T MAKE IT…… I WAS SOOOOO SCARED GOING UP THERE.

SO WE STARTED THE SONG. IV FAILED IN THE FEW FIRST FEW MINUTES OF THE SONG. SO ME AND ZAC WERE SOOO SCARED. BUT THEN CORY SAVED HIM AND SO DID ZAC. AND AS WE KEPT PLAYING, I REALIZED THAT WE HAD BEAT THEM. MIRACIOUSLY WE FINISHED THE WHOLE SONG!!! I GOT 98% SINGING. AND EVERYONE ELSE DID VERY WELL TOO (SORRY DONT REMEMBER THEIR SCORES I WAS TOOOO EXCITED THAT WE WON!)

SO… “THE 4″ WON THE WHOLE NIGHT! WE WON FREE ADMISSION TO THE YOUNG LIFE BROOMBALL NIGHT THIS SATURDAY AND $25 OFF CAMP. BUT SINCE IV AND ZAC AREN’Y GOING, I HAVE $75 TOWARDS CAMP!!!!!!!!!!!!!! =) ALL I NEED IS ANOTHER $25 BEFORE SUNDAY TO GET $50 OFF CAMP!

THIS DAY HAS BEEN AMAZING! ZAC, IV, (AND CORY IF HE EVER SEES THIS)….. WE WERE AWESOME! WE ALL ROCKED OUT LOUD AND THANK YOU TO IV AND ZAC FOR HELPING ME GET CLOSER TO GOING TO YOUNG LIFE CAMP! =)

tonight is the Young Life Rock Band Club Competition between Forest Park and Woodbridge! oh yeah this is gonna be fun! i’ll have pictures up tomorrow!!!! I CAN”T WAIT!!!!!!! it’s form 7-9pm! AWW YEAH!!!!!

“The Prophet Hosea”

What are five characteristics you would want in a person you marry?
1- Christian
2- similar interests
3- responsible
4- fun to be with
5- the right one God has for me

In Hosea’s life, God had him marry a prostitute. This was to be an example to Israel of how they were treating God. They were not following God.

FACTS ABOUT ATTITUDE:

1. Emotions don’t determine your attitude.

—Sometimes we let our emotions control our attitude. We let our emotions effect our whole day. We need to learn to control our emotions so we can continue to have good attitudes to be good examples for others.

2. You determine your attitude.

—You can not blame your attitude on someone else. You are the only person responsible for your emotions, your attitude, and your actions. We must learn to take responsibility of our actions and learn that there are consequences.

HOW DOES YOUR ATTITUDE AFFECT YOU?

1. Attitude affects our view of God. (Hosea 3:1)

—We can not blame God for our bad attitude and the tough times we go through.

2. Attitude affects our view of circumstances. (Hosea 3:2-3)

—In bad and tough times, we have to trust God. Things happen that we don’t like but we have to stay strong and get through them. We have to understand that life is not always going to be fun and easy. We all have our own situations that we have to go through.

3. Attitude affects our view of leadership. (Hosea 3:4-5)

—If we are in a position of leadership or influence on others, we should have an attitude that is an example for others to follow. We should have an attitude that brings others up and that doesn’t tear others down. And we also have to show respect to those who were put in authority over us. We need to learn to become good leaders.

—Life is Hard. Period. Life is tough. Period. But we need to learn to maintain a good attitude towards situations. We may not always be happy but remember… emotions should not control your attitude. We’re not supposed to be fake but we should not have a bad attitude about everything. We need to learn to have attitudes that can be good examples for others to follow and we need to have attitudes that encourage others. We must learn to trust God because He is on control and we need to realize that everything happens because of God’s will and His plan for our lifes.
